That's the good part about these clothes running a little big...they will allow for layering. Well, of as much that I have to layer.
I would like to ask Ds to help Dh go through more things tomorrow, but if available, they will caulk those screws.
Apparently, there's trim that must go up at the same time? I didn't know that.
So, I'm planning on a hotdog lunch for the guys. There's some kind of hotdog that Ds loves, and can eat, but he rarely buys because of the price of the meal.
He'd be working for free all day here, and not doing the things at home that his wife would prefer, so I thought that lunch would be the least that I could do. It's a fast meal, and something that he likes but won't do often for himself, so....
I asked Dh, and he said that he'd like to eat them too, as he never eats hotdogs anymore. He won't eat them often, but it's been a long time.
No. It ran out of oil, which sounds simple enough. But, Dh has been dizzy of late, and felt that it was better to take Cricket (his tiny truck.) down than try to walk down, then back up, and carrying a giant bottle of oil. Really large.
But, Jiminy (Cricket) wouldn't drive. Dh thought the worst, that it was the transmission or something else. He fooled with it for a while, got tired, and came in to rest.
We put a call in to Ds, to find out who would have parts if it could be fixed, but when he's out climbing hills during a survey, it can take a while for him to get the call and call us back.
When he did, he said that there's some kinds of switches and a box that Dh has never used, that he drives in a different gear than Dh up and down the driveway, and when he last drove him, he might not have returned to where it normally is for Dh. That was when he took the small gen. down to run the water last.
So, Dh went out and followed his directions, and voila!
He went down to get the oil, but Ds called back, and said that there was a shelter-in-place order in the area that he lives, because 5 armed and dangerous robbers were last seen there. So, Ds left his job in the next county, so as not to leave ddil and the baby home alone.
That meant that he wasn't stopping to drop his equipment off here, so Dh couldn't come up without feeding, watering, etc. Chief Joseph, and FF's Mamou and Tux.
Finally he got back up here, got the generator filled with new oil, and voila!
See, I said that it was long, lol!
Then end of that story is that, when Ds got home, there were several sheriff's near his house changing into S.W.A.T. gear. They said that the men disappeared up the creek. They never caught them, I understand. :-( That's too close to them, and actually, pretty close to us, also.
Yes, Uhura is doing better each day. I'm very happy about that.
I'm so happy. This little camera has a couple of features that are difficult to find together anymore, and I can't afford another in any case, so it's a relief. I hope that we both get back the things which mean the most to us.
Your week sounds very high stress. I hope that things mellow out this coming week.
I do have a suggestion, if you are planning to replace your toaster oven, which I hope that you do. There's just nothing quite like it.
My suggestion is to price them at Walmart and Amazon online, to get an idea of features and prices for the size that you want. Then, do nothing. Wait for the black Friday deals, then jump on it. You can find the absolute best price then.
Or, wait for the Christmas sales in early December, 3-4 weeks from now.
The last thing is QVC. Get on their mailing list (you can get rid of their emails afterwards.) and wait for sales. They have no shipping sales, and also 5-payments on everything deals. So, let's say that you find $150. toaster oven (I haven't priced them in a while, but just pretend.), and take advantage of their deals. You would pay about $30. a month for 5 months, and not pay shipping. They have different deals like that all the time, you just have to look at their emails and jump on it.
The last time that I got that kind of deal from them, it cost me $6 and change each month. I don't have any special cards or anything, I just did it, and they let me, lol!
So, that's 3 routes to go. Pay less on a sale, or pay a regular amount, but in small payments. :-)
Heat-proof surface. Hmmmm. What about Formica? I once used a leaf from an old Formica table to put my buffet stove-top on. But, maybe you could get a section of Formica from a home store?
Something that I use to this day when trying to protect things from the heat of an electric frying pan or single burner, is wood. You get a large cutting board, and voila! Just make sure that it's larger than the base of your item. I have cutting boards from the hardware store which are about 20"x14" and that's a handy size for cooking on, serving on, etc.
That's just what I've done, and off the top of my head.
Geez, we have similar lists and wishes, though different things...some of them!
I'll be glad when Dd can visit, too, and I am very glad that you have your food deliveries.
Yes, it's difficult to start with muscle building. I'm there right now, too.
Bird cages aren't fun.
I was talking to someone about chores. You know how people always say that they don't do windows, well, I've seen commercials where people moan about sorting socks, and folding laundry. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't mind socks, or most regular laundry folding. What I *do* mind, is cleaning stove burners, and also ovens. I actually got a glass topped stovetop (in storage) to avoid burner cleaning. I know that they have their own issues, but thought that it would be worth it to avoid burner cleaning, lol! How about you?
I hope that all is well..
I will, thank you. I'm going to copy/paste them. I appreciate it!
You, too; have a great and relaxing week!
