The kids have made some changes to their house plans for here, I feel much better this morning.
Boy and Ddil have opted to not build here but rather to install a cement pad and buy a large camper.
This means they will have their own utilities not connected to mine. They will be able to hook up to the house for showering, but like me will use bottled water for everything else.
I was concerned about trees having to be removed - but only 1 dead tree will be cut down and made into benches for the yard. A few small stumps will be cut out as well to make way for a driveway of some sort.
They will not be able to turn around in the back yard as rain turns the drive area behind the house into a bog. Thus they will have to back into the driveway. Unless When the fence is fixed the gate will be added to the repair job.
Which may result in the front yard being fenced in separately so Charlie can't get out. That way the gate can be left open. A good thing for Charlie. For right now he only gets to go out if I go with.
So no running of electrical lines, or adding to septic system. I have hoses that are long enough to be connected to the house for showering, etc.
Better yet the camper is not a small one but will not be too large for that corner of the yard. It will be perfectly placed to be along the neighbors tree line in the back NW corner. It will be tucked into that corner which has a tall wooden fence on the north side. Thus providing some protection from the North winds.
Also there are trees in the South East by that area that will provide some cover from the sun.
They have one of my large dog kennels that will be used for their two small dogs. They gave the large dog to DGS. Who will not be living with them or me. I asked that the kennel be placed out of sight of Charlie and tucked along the back fence. Charlie will go wacko when he has to deal with them.
Better news is that they will not be moving in anytime soon... they both say 5 to 6 years or more. They are beginning to clear out their home an Boy & I will be sharing a local storage unit.
Part of the deal for them getting my MN storage stuff. HURRAH!
Whew!!! This is so much better then having them build a home there. We still have to check into all the details and laws etc before anything gets started.
The bad news is the van in my backyard is going to be donated to the VA. Boy plans on buying a jeep for here which I will be able to use as well. DDIL is not happy about that.
Anyway these decisions have simplified their living here. Besides they will only be here 6 month out of the year Ddil has dual citizenship so can stay there. So DDIL will not have to return here with Boy from the Philippines.
He is required by US law to return to the US for 6 months. Unless he applied for dual citizenship. But he says he won't.
So there you have the swing from chaos to peace - well as close to peace as this house gets. You know, Parrot, Dog and Cats, plus wildbirds, Hawks, squirrels and deer... the normal Rural Chaos.
I am sure there will be changes to the plans. But I think this plan is the best they have come up with since 2017 when they first asked to live here. It was too soon for me to say yes. I have to admit it took all the time I have been here to own this place emotionally as well as financially. A huge acceptance for me. And now a great Joy. I can live with them here every six months for Boy & Ddil will bring additional Chaos. I will need the 6 months between their visit to recover. ROFLOL!!! I'm not joking either. Besides I will have the jeep when they are gone. 8-)
I'm sure updates will be posted as well as lots of changes. Well maybe not lots of changes. Ok off to walk Charlie and me... then feeding everyone, including me. There is a wind and it may reach the upper 70's this afternoon. Tomorrow temps are diving into low 40's with a stiff breeze. Guess what I'm doing this afternoon? 8-)
Love All Life; Thank You For Posting! :)
