I woke up a half hour ago. House is very cold. chance's rice bags were first since his heater goes off with the power. But power didn't come on till almost 3am. All I could do was gather all flashlights on to dining room table.
I gave Charlie & cats dry food. Took Chances rice bags from microwave... oh my so warm. Chance was already next to his heater.
My rice bag was next and then my coffee.
It's 315am heaters are on. It is 28 with freezing rain. Thankfully where I live is just on southern edge of sleet area. So it is not as bad as SA.
Im afraid kids lost water but they have 5 gal jugs also. Maybe they are ok.
My generator is under the back porch. Covid has kept me from having it set up.Sheesh!
Critters all fed. I have a pnb sandwich on raisin bread with pringles and some applesauce.
Refilled my coffee cup. And my electric water pot is full of hot water.
All are back in bed.. any minute now power will go off.
Power companies screwed up big time. There are people live at home who are seriously ill that may have small generators but no one to turn them on for them. The elderly are trapped.
I have to top off my coffee and nuke it again a large thermos is on my to buy list ASAP.
A TIP.... CELL phones dont like cold. I plug in to re charge. Then keep it in a kitchen mitt unplugged. So when I use its not frozen.
Thank goodness outside temp is 28 with sleet - thats warmest its been in 4 days plus. That allows the house to warm up to 59. Yahoo.
Power going off anytime now. Post later. Praying for all who are suffering.
