I was so surprised to hear from him...and grateful. We both dumped on the TX government. LOL He sounded very tired. And warned me about one of the problems they are having when repairing pipe breaks, etc.
Often when they fix a pipe and turn the water back on - always wells around here... there is another break somewhere else on that system.
I walked him through the procedure I had followed but admitted that I wasn't sure if I had to release pressure or not. I never had to before.
I told him I had sent photos of the part that broke to my son. But he warned me that the big plumbing companies had pretty much cleared the shelves BEFORE the storm hit.
Supplies are few and far between. I mention your offer and he said I should take you up on it. Having no well water is not a good thing for me at all. No washing dishes, no laundry, no shower - but I did manage a sink wash down using bottled water. A waste but of so good feeling. lol. Talk about pioneering. ROFLOL!
Side topic - My favorite American Artist is Mary Cassatt (American, 1844–1926) There is a website you might want to check out.
I have a copy of her THE BATH... a woman leaning over a sink bathing. This is one of my favorites.. also a woman sipping a cup of tea. Her work is women, children, some men but mostly pictures of women's lives.
BRILLIANT. Go to marycassatt.org

Let me know if you have any faves I like to see which ones you love.
ANyway back to the well stuff. My well guy and I talked socially for 20 minutes. He'd been to Houston and said they didn't get hit near as bad as here and SA.
My son was going back to Houston next week and will try and pick up a few of the parts I need - well more like 3 or 4 to have on hand.
He will be bringing more bottled water for me when he comes. Te thing is I don't want to use my bottled water on chores and will hate to borrow more well water from the Women down hill. But needs must, sigh!
If we have trouble getting the part I just might send you a request. If you can get a a hold of one or two of the $8.45 boxes below that is the cost to me when I mail it.
Ask for a Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box.
They have no weight limit o I stuff the ones to DD full of things. I get it so full I have to double tape it closed. But usually it gets to DD pretty quick. Faster then regular mail.
Let me know if and when I have to ask you for the parts - I hope not. Boy hopes to pick them up in Houston next week. I will send you cost for part(s) and box. LOL I have one her but it would cost more for me to mail it then you to get a free one from the post ofc.
Speaking of DD she just called - an hour early which means more time to start the last of the Borrower books.
Will keep you posted as to well repair. Dang it, really inconvenient. LOLOL
Be safe.. keep warm - maybe heating up during the day but chilly nights still. I am dreading my power bill. 8-(
