Night temps lowest upper 40s to 60s
Whew don't think I could stand anything lower.
Fed Ex delivery was 4 hours early 1pm. That never happens.
Schwan's delivery was at 7pm usual 4pm. He'd been working the weekend. Usually M-F.
UPS driver M-F also but worked S&S also.
All of them my usual drivers and they were all exhausted.
I am thankful they are working so hard. Usually in Feb I have extra food for all of them left over. Not this Feb.
Instead I had to order early to make it to March. It was a close thing...but I won't take chances.
Even the wild critters got extra...I just hope that orange stray catbmade it through. I saw it after the worst of the storm. But not since. Next door feeds all the strays which keeps them out of my area pretty much.
Still no deer. They have lots of space to call their own.
Not as many birds as on the day after the worst of the storm. That was an impressive sight. I think they feed in shifts usually. As there is never a time the yards- front & back are bird free.
I've been putting out extra seed & nuts. I always check the nut bowls on my back to the front door from the feeders out back.
Today all the nuts had disappeared in 20 minutes. I think there may be more squirrels
My regulars have been very friendly going so far as to sit up on the haunches with a peanut in hand staring at me as I did the dishes. We stared at each other for over 5 minutes. I checked the clock. The branch is not quite 3 feet from the window at the sink. Awesome experience. Finally he dropped down on the branch, cast one side long look and scampered away.
Cool beans!!!!! 8-)
