The week was cold at night, and variable during the day...50's to 80's. But, last night, it began to rain. Really rain. I don't know how much yet, but a lot. A steady deluge that we had trouble talking over, never mind trying to watch T.V. Lost cause on that front. We're under a 'winter advisory.'
Next week should be a little of everything, so I peeked at my birthday and it looks like the night before will be 20's, with a sunny day around 60, and around freezing that night. Sunny the following day, too. But, I can't see the weekend yet. The reason that I want to know that, is that I'm making a birthday weekend of it, and hope to BBQ on Saturday or Sunday. We haven't for a couple of years, with the fire danger and such. If it's clear, we will. If it's anything like right now, we won't. So, I'm keeping watch!
Speaking of bbq's, Ds made a 'mini' shopping trip today. Since we've decided not to do big shopping on the 14th, and to push it to the beginning of April, he needed a couple of things that are perishable for ddil, and the baby's birthday cake.
So, with him going to the small market anyway...!
Actually, I only got 6 things, but 2 were unexpected treats for me that I hadn't asked for. I rarely get food treats, so that was exciting! I got a small piece of feta cheese (goat, so I can eat a small piece at a time.), and a pineapple! Yeah! I want to grill pieces at my birthday bbq! Or, if we can't bbq, I'll cook them in a pan. Either way, it sounds good to me!
This was a busy week with trying to get the lumber etc. moved for the tree guys, the tree guys day here, and even the guy with the excavator here to work on that septic tank, etc. I'll post about those things separately.
Sunday is the baby's first birthday, so I have wrapping to do today.
I have several things that I want to accomplish this weekend, but when I began looking at the cooking that I need to do for next week, such as making a soup, pickling beets, cooking apples, and making a cookie dough to make into a pie crust, I may have to play the other things by ear!
Well, off to wash a clown for the baby. He's actually a cute clown...American Greetings, circa 1981. He's got blue eyes, and Raggedy Ann-ish hair. But, the reason that she's getting him, is because he teaches fastening and unfastening.
One foot has laces for learning to tie shoes, one has a buckle. There's also a big button, a zipper, and maybe more. They are labeled, also, so you see the word.
I remember Ds having a similar doll, but he wasn't a clown. Anyway, this little guy is clean, but been stored, so he's getting a small bath.
How was your week?
