We had Kara's family and Josh's girlfriend and Erin's boyfriend for dinner Thursday for her birthday. 21!!!!! It was so fun and it was particularly relaxing for me since Josh did fantastic potatoes sliced and roasted and topped with cheese and Cody (Erin's boyfriend) seasoned and bbq'd the chicken! I had a salad already made and just had to get the veggies and garlic bread readied. I really, really enjoyed it!!! Randy is still here because he's furloughed right now, so he's been here for two meals so far. I'm working on once a week until Josh can drive himself over! Kara talked about gunks that night....a dish I thought my granny made up and I made for my kids. I found it on line at Epicurious! I was amazed! I don't have all the stuff to make them for when they come today or tomorrow for Josh to do the yards, so I think I'll go ahead and make the pot roast I had planned to do someday and then next week do gunks. Our trip to Vegas has been postponed indefinitely, so I've been jazzed bout that!!
Kara's tumbler business has just taken off! She was contacted by a group that has a storefront on line with lots of products, but they don't have anything like her tumblers so he asked if she could do them for them!!! I am so jazzed for her!
I cracked up because Kara told a story about a bycicilist who showed up as she was pulling into her driveway. She thought he was having trouble going by ad motioned him on and he motioned her to roll down her window. She didn;t recognize him, but then on second look thought it was her half-brother, Beau. The cyclilist said no, he WAS NOT Beau! LOL! She still didn't recognize him and he finally said, "I'm your brother, Curt!" LOL! Then she saw the rest of the family on their bikes coming up behind him and Becky on her bike across the street! I laughed so hard! Crazy, right? In her defense, he was sporting a beard he didn't have at Christmas and the rest of the family was not visible right away.
