I do have interesting news though. In our 'ditch pond', which is trying to go dry and we are filling it; it's where our frogs sit in front of the house and sing each evening/night and some afternoons...we have polliwogs!
Dh was scooping off mosquito larvae, and I said to be careful, in case there are polliwogs. He didn't think that there would be, but sure enough, there are!
We captured one in a pot of water...a saucepan, and no, it wasn't my idea to use my pan for an amphibian, lol!...and it was the tiniest one that I've ever seen. Super tiny. And, fast as all get out! :-)
Yes, thank you for looking and letting me know, we do have a frost advisory. I'm not sure how cold it's going to be here. What is predicted is more for town. We tend to get hotter or colder, as the case may be.
We just locked the chickens in their houses, so they should be warm enough.
No, I have not put anything in the ground yet. When I do, hopefully soon, I will use floating row cover, and hope that will prevent frost kill between now and May.
Will yours be a cold rain? Did you have to bring in the plants? Hopefully, it will be a non-harmful rain that will help with the drought.
We turned the heater on already, and will layer covers. That's the best we can do. I'm sure that it won't be colder than 2 weeks ago. I hope not!
Thank you for asking and worrying.
Stay warm there, too!
