It was drying up on these hot days with no rain, but we've kept it filled. (I think that we will have to add a liner if we want it to have water in it over the summer.)
Meanwhile, mosquitoes found it, so Dh was netting them out. I offhandedly mentioned to him to be careful, in case there were polliwogs in it. He didn't think that there would be any, but then he found some!
As I mentioned to Paten, they are the tiniest ones that I've ever seen, and I've seen my fair share.
We've never seen them in the creek. In this area, they seem to put their eggs into tree holes that have water in them, which makes sense. But, apparently, this little pipe ditch appealed to them.
Also, they have become so used to us, that they not only ignore us when they see someone, but they call to us when we get close!
