Hopefully I can get some specific mowing done. After I manage to pull up the last batch of sticker weeds.
Lots of tiny wildflowers have popped. More then usual. My Lantana is just putting out some greenery.
But my sunflower bushes are cropping up all over the place. The heat will encourage many to thrive.
I bet it is an early summer. Then the Cicadas will be hatching and turning these Southern nights in to song filled nights. I can't wait.
Texas nights are the best Southern nights but for those of Florida. They remind me of my childhood home. Which is always in New Jersey.
Humidity thick enough to cut with a knife.
But traveling in a convertible with the top down heading up 101, or PCH - the Pacific Coast Highway at night. The radio turned up but not loud enough to cover the sounds of the surf. Heading for Malibu and points North to the music of the 60s & the 70s.
No lights but the stars and a car or two flying by in both directions. An occasional gas station or restaurant set back off the road. Times felt good. Peace & love.
But our friends from high school or college - off to, or back from Vietnam. Damaged Or dead. Life was in our face. And we protested. And we were alive.
