How cool about the tree. My tree 'getaway' was sitting under the peach tree up on a hill that I climbed. Great place to read, also.
No one else sat under my tree, either. What does that say about us? lol!
Your dad sounds great.
So, he was the cat lover. People don't think of males as cat people, but I've had a similar experience...my Dfil and Dh, for example. Ds, too, for that matter. I've been lucky that way.
I think that my Df liked them a lot, too, because he brought me one once, and told my mom to leave the neighbors cat alone when she was in the yard, in later years. However, he was allergic, so that's as far as it could ever go.
Your mom, challenging. I'm sure that she had her good points, but it's difficult for kids to deal with the rest.
That's interesting about size. I wonder why your mother wanted a small girl? My mother, who was not all that tall didn't...good thing, because she got my sister who was your height!...and I am vertically challenged, but never wanted a small girl, either. Again, good thing, because both of mine were taller than me, though one just about 3" taller.
Yes, as I've said, I'm a 'pie person,' too. I like to make and eat them.
See's candy, donuts, and chocolate work for me, too!
Yes, Mexican food. It's great that you had that in common.
I've never had Irish cheddar, though I've seen it. Maybe I will get what I need not to react to dairy one of these days. Then, I'd like to try it. I do like regular, good, white cheddar.
