I basically was saying how bad it is that people will run out of food and such for their pets.
Also, I was telling you that my day has been challenging.
Last night, before dinner, and before the foods for today were made, we were running out of gas, but even before that the big gen stopped working altogether. :-(
That meant no heat all night...thank goodness it was 40's out, and not 30's or lower...etc., but also, no cooking for tonight's special dinner.
The plan was deviled eggs to start with, then for dinner, meatloaf, browned broccoli, candied carrots, pickled beets, etc. with a chocolate carrot cake for dessert. For Dh's portion, and the piece that I was going to send home to ddil, there was to be a cream cheese frosting, and on my part, a non-dairy fudgy frosting.
Now, I'm not sure. Ds got the generator running, but he's not sure for how long. And, it's almost 4 already.
If it continues to run, I think that I will make hamburger patties with the meat, or a browned meat pasta dish. Whichever feels faster.
Mind you, we couldn't wash dishes last night, as we couldn't turn on water to heat. So, first, we need to heat water and do dishes.
I hope that it just continues to run, and that even this alternative dinner won't be really late. :-(
So yes, it's a challenging day. If I didn't have to work fast, and that's where I'm headed right now, I'd cover my head with a blanket, and not come out until tomorrow... Sheesh.
