Do you remember that every fall...October, they used to go to the river to test all of the levels and changes? Someone has to go into the cold water to hold the marker for him?
One year he did it, but not since. Other people go in while he does the survey part.
Well, this year, they decided that it had to be done spring, also.
And, the boss didn't want just anyone, perhaps not covered by insurance, going into the water, so sent his grown son, maybe early 20's, to go into the water, joking that Ds be careful not to let him drown. The water right now, even though we haven't had rain, is high, and swift moving.
Well, they went out yesterday, and avoided certain areas, but there was a place where things met, and the son, who is a strong swimmer, said that the spot was okay.
He went in, and it's 9' deep there right now. He's was fine, until something happened. His foot got caught? Anyway, he looked surprised and popped back up, then seemed to have an idea, turned, and then let the current carry him where it went.
That was the end of the day. Not good, though he's okay.
The thing that Ds was worried about, were the rocks. He was afraid that he'd get dashed against the boulders at certain places. Luckily, not where he was.
Eegads. Anyway, today he goes in the opposite direction, to the farthest south county all day. My gen has to wait, maybe until the end of the weekend?
Thank you. I need to get important things done. Cut up all of the vegetables that came in now, and cook them. Water the trees that are left this morning, get other ones planted, get something made for my bulbs...living things and food are my current hot list. Still need 2 things to get the chicken boxes up and hummingbird feeder up...waiting for a piece of metal for the latter...it should be here today or tomorrow?
That doesn't count seeds or weeds. *sigh*
Did you hear that Prince Phillip passed away at 99? I hadn't heard that he'd had heart surgery a couple of weeks ago, until today.
Okay, off to cont. while I can! Thank you!
