One adult will charge it then stop and go back to eating. The youngster turns to go up the trunk but stops and waits for the adult to stop eating.
I had three adults out there this morning. One climbing down the Oak closest to my back porch leans to the porch. They other closely root together and the other one leans towards the street.
An adult was climbing down the tree closest to my back porch. When suddenly another adult climbing down the other tree to the seed dish there.
The first squirrel sped up towards the seed dish and stunned me by doing a forwards Gainer. Landing on the other tree and chasing that squirrel quickly away from the seed dish.
Holy moly. What a spectatular move. Going from one tree trunk to another tree trunk at full speed and not a second of hesitation after landing perfectly and at a full run.
The squirrel at the seed dish was gone in a flash.
I've seen lots of running, chasing, climbing and jumping but acrobatics - WOW!!!
