Did you have hoses, kiddie pools, sprinklers, or regular pools? At home we had hoses, sprinkler, and kiddie pools. The whole neigjborhood enjoyed the hoses and sprinklers. We also had a great community pool, and my dm took us there when we got old enough to go. She stayed with us until we were older.
Cold drinks, popsicles, ice cream or...? We drank a lot of tea. We also had popsicles and water from the hoses. We did have sherbet and ice cream. of course, some of the ice cream was homemade, and it was delicious.
How about at your grandparents' homes? My dgps lived on a farm until I was a bit older. They did not need much AC as they were on farmland on a gravel road. It did get hot there, so we spent many an afternoon under the shade trees eating watermelon from my dgf's patch
Did your family car have AC? I think our first AC was in our 66 Chevrolet Impala. We never thought about it until we had it. Car windows down were a great way to stay cool.
Ds asked about our cars growing up. He's still amazed that we didn't have shoulder harnesses in them. I told him that you were lucky to have a lap belt! I cannot remember when we had seatbelts. I think it was in the 66 Chevy.
