On Monday it was 80 degrees at 4 a.m. and 101 degrees at 11 p.m. I'm over it...and also realizing we have to get through the entire summer and into October before it cools. Now they want us to give up our A/C and go back to the days we didn't have all the amenities we have now. What? Yup! I even heard a politician saying that turtles are more humane than people and kids should not be allowed to dig in the sand on the beach because a turtle could fall in a hole....uh, turtles know how to get out of sand. Sheese! Do they realize if we become hunters and gatherers again that a lot of the animals they are offering sainthood will be come dinner over a fire out in the open...that some careless fool will fail to be sure is out and will cause a forest fire? Not to mention denying the ingenuity and inspiration of all those who have been our inventors?
My girls are forced inside a lot, too. We took them both in to the vet yesterday afternoon. I wanted the vet to check Chelsea's ears because I can't smell yeast, but she's acting like they are bothering her. So she's on antibiotics, had a steroid shot and he renewed the drops for her ears. We got medication for both and he said start with one and you can work up to 3....I didn't give Chelsea any, but the fireworks last night were so loud poor Missy was beside herself. She worked up to 3 and was still just shaking and hypervigilant. Chelsea just puts her head down and goes to sleep.
That is so cute....I love that age where they are starting to have "firsts!" I bet she is absolutely adorable!
We're doing melons, steak, corn on the cob, new potatoes, and Texas garlic toast on Sunday for Randy's birthday and Kara said a peach birthday cake. I found a recipe for dump cake for the peaches, so I'm going to try that. We'll have vanilla ice cream with it.
Love All Life; Thank You For Posting! :)
