This one is a hardback but I also have two paperbacks by her.. that I will read next:
Moment of Truth and Devil's Corner.
I just finished Corrupted and it started out in the past then jumped to the future, back to the past and finished with a powerhouse ending.
The story is based on a Real Life Event of corruption by two Judges. It is called Kids-For-Cash. It occurred in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania in 2008. A horrific miscarriage of justice to young boys.
It is a story that involves 2 young boys that are victims of Kids for Cash. One of them ends up dying and the other is accused of his murder. The lawyer is the central figure and I have to say once I get into it I was hooked. Knowing of the underlying truth added a depth of emotion the story would not of had if Kids-For-Cash were not a big part of the underlying development of these two boys.
I have more of her books in storage in MN. Sigh! And have always found her lawyer center books fascinating. Great writing and terrific plot.
DD and I are now up to Chapter Ten. Slow going as she is back to work and had having a bit of trouble with her coach. It happens occasionally.
And is part of her behavior pattern. I've mentioned before that the coach is not following DD's IEP program. Sigh! It happens.
Otherwise all is well with both of us.
