I was trying to complete some work before midnight. It was about a quarter till, and suddenly my chair moved - a lot, from left to right, and then, oddly, from back to front.
It was a combination of rolling, and sharp.
It was a 5.1; the largest on the earthquake map.
Also, while I'm here, I have to update you on the dog. The people finally called me yesterday, and said that someone else will be looking at him today.
I can't see them not taking him home with them, so already feel deeply disappointed. There's still a chance, but...
This is a dog that I would have gotten, even if we still had Tilde.
I got most of my vegetable prep done, which was absolutely necessary to prevent it from going bad, which it does quickly in these temps. So, just a little more this morning, then to make one meal for the freezer before it gets hot, and I will be satisfied that I've done my best, and have made some progress.
It always seems so mild at this time of day. When I got up at 6, it was 52 degrees out. I immediately started bringing cool air in, even though it was chilly, because the cooler the night in the summer, the hotter the day. And, this actually is supposed to be the hottest day of the week. At least I'm enjoying this couple of hours.
Well, that's the update. I know that Paten has an app for earthquakes in California, and wanted to post that all is well here after the one here, even though we definitely did feel it.
I'm going to see about answering a few posts before I get back to food/cooking before the heat.
Have a great day!
