For many days it was pleasant during the day...90's, sometimes 102 for a short time, but as the week before, a table fan kept it nice in the house. The nights were actually cold. 4 nights in a row it was in the 40's. 41 one night! It felt like fall at night and in the mornings, until it began to warm up. I even dug out a blanket that I haven't used for months! But, on Thursday it was 110, and 111 on Friday, with the nights warmer again. Too hot to do much again.
We have a heat advisory today, and a lot of smoke, which had previously cleared.
As you know, I've been feeling pretty bad this week. I'm happy to report that, while I'm still hurting and not moving well, it seems to be getting better. Thank you again for the prayers, they are helping!
Between my issues, and Krypto's, not a lot happened here this week.
I am getting the cat crates, finally. It's a long story, but I needed 3 cat crates. Not cages, but the plastic ones. I found them on sale, and ordered them, nearly 3 months ago, but they never came.
Long story short, it was Chewy's mistake, so we spent an hour on the phone straightening out my autoships (I've been using their autoships for years, and have just started having issues with it. I choose a date, say in Oct., and they send the items in Aug.) and the crates. I need crates during fire season, no if's, and's, or but's about it.
The rep discovered that 2 of the 3 were out of stock now, found other ones with high star ratings, and found them for less. Then, they took 10% off, and gave us free shipping, even though one items didn't meet the requirement for it.
That was yesterday, and I got one of the crates today. Wow. In my location, a fast shipment is 2 days, this was 1 day. So, one down, and 2 to go. She picked a pink one for Uhura, lol, and that's the one that arrived. Now for my blue one, and gray one, and I'll be set!
This past week was amazing for watching the security camera down at the road. The full moon was on Sunday, and every animal, and it's mother, literally, was out and about, all night long for about 3 nights.
There were herds of deer, with twin fawns in their midst. Late season fawns by their small size. Also, 3 spotted skunks at once. And, many smaller animals.
One morning, once it was light, I heard the road bell, and looked up in time to see....a horse! I swear that it looked like a horse, and not a deer. It was white or light gray, and galloping. By the time I looked up, which didn't take long, it was almost gone.
We've had loose horses before, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. I hope that whoever lost him/her was reunited with them safely.
There were warnings in the local paper of a pair of mountain lion cubs being spotted. Where there are cubs, there's usually a mom.
Well, that's all from this neck of the woods. How was your week?
Late breaking news: Uhura wanted to go out around 9, but at the front door, she wouldn't go out.
About 5 mins. later, Krypto began some serious barking, and there was a crashing noise on the outdoor kitchen. *Not* a cat!
Dh looked around and didn't see anything. Then, he went back out to see what fell over, and I heard Dh yelling and growling, and I knew, 100%, that there was a bear nearby.
When he came in, he said that there was, indeed, a bear, now across the yard from him.
The bear wasn't very impressed with Dh's blustering, and looked at him, started to amble up the hill, looked back at him, etc.
I think that he's been helping himself to Tux's cat food. (Mamou and Uhura eat in the house, and Tux is going to have to learn to now. No cat food on the porch, period.) Plus, he found a few apples, which he ate half of.
The loud noise was him knocking over a filing cabinet, which is heavy, and an old-style gas can of spoiled gas.
Ds has an appt. for the gas, and some used batteries at the hazmat place, so it was put where it was convenient to load into his truck on the day.
We're going to try scrubbing the floor with a good liquid soap that gets most things out of cement.
Sheesh, just when you thought that you were settled in for the night!
Love All Life; Thank You For Posting! :)
