First, I mentioned in a post that Ds and family got stuck yesterday night. Something broke in ddil's car...a shift cable, I think?
Anyway, after waiting for over 2 hrs. for the tow truck, they had it taken to the dealership. Her mom drove them home, as she and her Dh were also there.
Today, Ds drove down to the dealership, dropped his truck there and got a rental from them, drove all the way back up here, picked up ddil and the baby, drove them back to the dealership, picked up his truck, and ddil drove the rental. (It's not safe for her not to have a vehicle while he's off at work, with this being fire season.)
It turns out that the cable clip has a recall on it, and they were not notified. They heard a plinking sound when it popped off. It will take a few days before they get their car back.
Krypto had an off day today. First, his ears stopped standing. (What the heck?) And, he just couldn't get anything right today.
His constitutionals didn't go well, he has been annoying to the cats all day, and didn't eat the food in his treat dispensing ball. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day for him.
On an interesting note, we get more light up here than the other house...which is heavily forested, or even the road, which is quite sunny.
Each day, around 8, the cameras detect the fading light, and switch from color to black and while until early morning, when they switch back to color.
Today, I had the screen split, with all 3 camera views up. They switched to black and white, as usual, but when I glanced up, the camera up here was still in color, meaning that the light was still too bright up here for it to switch. Now, I want to watch it early tomorrow morning, to see if they all turn back to color at the same time, or not!
And, lastly, a skunk dug a hole under the chicken run. I'm not so much worried about the skunks, who co-habitate fine with grown hens and cats, but other animals using their hole to get into the pen. Such as a fox, for one.
The perimeter is filled with rocks and bricks, but somehow the skunk found a weak spot, I guess.
It's filled in now, but had to be done in very high triple digit weather. I just don't trust any critters with my girls.
Well, that's it for now. A couple more posts, and I'm heading for bed. Have a wonderful day!
