I feel that, once the fire season is over, and we've had rain, that they can spend all late fall, winter, and spring creating controlled burns.
Also, we need some big fire breaks on hills where the woods are thick. Otherwise, the fires just got up one hill and down another, for miles and miles. They could start by bulldozing the tops of some of those hills, creating fire breaks.
After that, thinning trees in key places.
It stopped being done over 40 years ago.
