I've had to reverse my position on a couple of things for dogs/cats, too. It happens when things change. I'm glad that Kenzi did well with her shot.
I don't know what has made Tux such a daredevil lately, but all that I can see for it, is to remove that ladder as soon as we can.
Even when people lived kind of close to us, there were still things called, message units. So, if you wanted to call someone who lived out of 'local service'...which could be 10 miles away only, you would be charged x-amount per minute. It wasn't as much as long distance, but there was still a charge.
Sometimes, though, we would want to call my grandmother's sister, back east, or my great-aunt, etc. Those were definitely long distance calls.
It must have been so nice to have everyone so close by.
