Then my weather Radio I've had for Decades broke. I replaced it with another Midland model for $32.01 I paid about 25$ for first one back in CA in the early 1970s. Not bad for 48 years.
Next one of my glass hummer feeders with a metal base, no longer shuts tight. Apparently it is warped? So, I've been trying to come up with a repellent. This morning I took a pinch of dry flour and ran it along the leak area. The bee gang, of 4, were here and have been working very hard to access the nectar. The flour is not working. After this post I am taking the feeder inside and try something else. I really don't want to replace it until next Spring.
Lastly, I am regrowing the tops of green onions. Easy peasy. I was looking for a recipe ingredient and saw this Tip.
I often buy green onions for my salads & fried rice & omlettets. It looked easy, so the last bunch of green onions I had, I cut the tops off leaving an inch of green . I stuck the bulbs, roots in a glass cup a week ago. I now have new growth on my green onions. How cool is that, 8-)
I just washed the flour off the hummer feeder, as it didn't work. I cleaned and put some new nectar in. It still leaks. I think the hummers will be flying south soon. I will buy a replacement next Spring. Now what can I put in that feeder bottle?
