We had another mixed week - hot, and hotter, though there were a couple of nights in the high 40's again.
A good chance of rain was predicted for today...90%, and tonight...50%. Well. they were right, it's raining! I hope that it gives us measurable rain, because tomorrow, it will be dry and hot again, as it's supposed to be all next week. I wish that it would rain for more than one day, but we'll take what we can get.
Did anyone hear about them wrapping the base of trees like General Sherman? Link:
There was a fire just south of me this week, where several pets and houses were lost. The placement threatened places north (where we are.), south, and east of them, as well, but they jumped on it to prevent that. Thank goodness it worked. It turned out that with investigation, it was discovered that it was set by a 20 yo. He's probably safer in jail. People here have no time for arsonists. They'd turn in their own mother for doing something dangerous, fire-wise.
We had a quiet anniversary this week, and quiet week in general. I did get some cooking done, some writing, and accomplished some goals, such as paying my car's tags, and getting various precriptions from the pharmacy.
The organic inspection went fairly well with the new inspector, but I have to fill out yet another paper for the inspector to consider the inspection complete before she decides whether we can re-certify.
I can't believe it, but we've had Henry for 2 weeks tomorrow, which I think will put him at about 7 weeks old now. I chose a birthday for him, based on how old that I think that he was when we foind him.
He saw Ds for the first time yesterday. Ds is a real animal lover, and I think that he was surprised (as was I) when Henry hissed at him, and kept back from him. I'd never given that thought, since he's so loving to us, but he's never seen Ds before, and the dog was going nutty over his favorite person, as per usual, which Henry may have misinterpreted as danger, since Krypto is his substitute mom along with us, I think. Either way, it wasn't something that I expected, and I hope that he will be friendly to Ds, when they next meet.
We're giving my reader one last chance. We're giving it to Ds to see if he can 'fix it.' If not, then I have to plan for a new one, maybe for Christmas. I was not able to download books that I got, but now, all of my books are gone, which was disappointing. At least Amazon keeps track, and you can re-download what you own, I believe. The ones from B&N, I'm not sure about.
The baby crow is learning all of his life lessons here, which is fun to watch, and on the days that took longer to heat up for the day, we had back all of the various types of birds that we are used to seeing and hearing.
Well, that's all from this neck of the woods! How was your week?
Love All Life; Thank You For Posting! :)
