But, when I opened my front door I was shocked that my front porch was completely dry. I never heard thunder overnight. Apparently no wind here at all, thus my dry front porch. I could have left all my plants outside.
When I looked at the radar a few moments ago, the storm track was not moving north or northwest, instead it seemed to be a straight line to Chicago.
I am relieved the worst of the storm failed to materialize here. In fact I'm surprised. But there is flooding of 4 to 8 inches in town and local counties.
I just checked the lake level and it is down a point. So no relief there. Once the kids let me know how their area did... I will have a better idea of how the northeast side of town did overnight. And if my area dodged a bullet, so to speak.
Once the sun comes out I will have a better idea how the yard did. But right now, no rain and it is very quiet outside.
