I like to use Ear Fresh Ear Powder, it was sold at Omaha Vaccine Co., which changed their name, with dogs with long, heavy ears, like Jet had, and Tango.
I used it each day that it rained, or on bath days, to prevent the ear problems from moisture.
Even when their ears didn't get rain in them, it seems as though some moisture got in anyway.
I had real problems with a couple of dogs, such as Scotty-Lhasa cross Taj. His ears would get bad in the winter. But, when I found the Ear Fresh powder, it stopped, and was great!
Tika, do you remember her? - used it with success for her boxer Ruby, who also had ear issues.
It's just so difficult to keep their heads completely dry when it rains.
Good girl, Chelsea! Yes, that's impressive.
I know when Krypto has to do that vs. emptying his bladder, because he whines, and has since we got him. I don't really know why, but it's not from pain, so I guess that it's just a quirk?
Yes, flooding/mud slides are a problem in fire areas. We need steady, but not over-the-top rain. Then it will soak in, and not just run off causing damage. But, whatever we get is going to help with the fires, and hopefully finish the fire season officially!
Good luck! I hope that you get the rain, but can keep it off of Chelsea!
