I noticed Charlie was stretched out on the bed. I always feel his nose - it was dry & very warm. The AC is now on and his nose has cooled down.
I watch Charlie's breathing and physical reactions closely. As he is hyper active inside & outside.
Having lived at so many different locations in the US, I have been made aware of how my critters react to them. Especially since they traveled with me from State to State.
Currently my Latitude is 29.6047° North. My Longitude is 98.9431° West.
This the furthest South I have continously
lived. Sunlight is extremely Potent as is the humidity.
So keeping an eye on Charlie is automatic. We go outside more often and for shorter periods of time. His coat is black and very thin.
Oddly, I do not tan. And in fact have had a low Vit D level most of my adult life. That lack is possibly tied into my MS. Drs won't commit to that, even my current Dr.
I began taking large doses of Vit D year-round and it has helped tremendously. My Dr in MN who diagnosed my Diabetes, also caught on to my almost non existent Vit D. That was in 2003. That 3 years after leaving BOR. Where I was outside daily year round.
Living in TN with Boy & company had me living in a lightbulb world. In Dallas, with my brother, was even worse.
But luckily I had been taking Vit D for years. When I moved further South my current Dr suggested I lower my D intake. I said ok to a test. It didn't take long for negative heath symptoms appeared. I went back on my high year-round doses of D. My current Dr had to admit my health was much improved.
Always at my yearly exam, my Vit D level is checked. She shakes her head & laughs for my D is never high, even with taking 1000s of milligrams daily. More during the cloudy days of which there are a lot here. And double during the winter.
Since I took to Vit D... my MS relapses are rare, although these last two years of stress have caused more then I've had for a long time.
Anyway I only meant to post on how I watch Charlies health in this environment. His breathing of course is first, but his nose is second. 8-)
