DH left yesterday morning with a friend and the couple he went with before for Vegas. I didn't hear anything last night and finally texted him around 10:30, knowing he'd already be asleep, but expressing my alarm that I didn't hear from him at all since he left. I haven't heard anything yet today. Makes me a bit nervous! Oh, and about 20 minutes after he left the power went off. Someone drove into a power pole and they were working to fix it. It took several hours and I had dreads that it might last the whole time he's away! He's supposed to be back Sunday, but I hope I hear from him today!
Isn't it funny that dogs sense of smell and hearing are so far greater than ours? Krypto barking at bears he can't see amazes me! Missy starts to bark at the front door as much as 20 minutes before someone appears there! And they both seem to hear dh's car long before he turns onto our street and into the driveway!
I've been getting ready for Christmas too. I've been trying to do some fun gifts....things related to each individual grandchild's latest passions. I found a dear figurine toting a gun with the hunger trussed up and hanging over the deer's shoulder from the end of the rifle. Carter has been hunting at every opportunity and he even brought home bear meat!! They had some bear burgers Curtis said! LOL! Tobin has been bull riding in competitions! I found a bull rider figurine. And Branton graduates in Colorado this month and I found a farmer bending his knee in a crop field with a prayer printed on it. Even if he doesn't end up in agriculture, it represents the seeds he plants in unbeliever's hearts. I got a chef figurine that includes salt and pepper shakers for Josh and a coffee ornament for Erin and a starter kit of Legos for Cody. I even got raccoon related gifts for Josh's girlfriend. I'm stumped with Kohle though. She reads a lot, she writes a lot and I did get her a hanging chair (2 in fact, one for inside and one for out...but those are bigger gifts, not like the figurines. The figurines are just an appreciation and acknowledgement of their interests and accomplishments. I've been trying to work on some things, though, because I know things are going to only get worse with shipping and trucking.
Love All Life; Thank You For Posting! :)
