I'm with Momo - they seem to start in one direction, then go another. I don't have the patience for it, for some reason. I'm the one that could untwist a messed up slinky for the kids, but twist ties on bread? Argh! lol!
Thank you, excellent tips. The canning jar made me cringe, though. Right now, I can visualize Krypto the Klutz bashing into them! :-)
I use the heck out of canning jars for many things even with a pup here, though. I love to put my refrigerator pickles/pickled beets in them, as they take less space, have lids, etc. than bowls.
Another tip, is to use pots in the 'fridge, rather than bowls. Especially if you have, or can find at sales, ones that no longer have a handle. They come with a lid, which is better than plastic wrap/foil, and they have *flat bottoms!* No tipping!
I use plastic wrap on bowls, but if I have leftover stew and such, or extra cookie dough, it's soooo easy to put them into the correct size of saucepan, pop the lid on, and refrigerate. When done, wash pot and lid and put away, voila! And, if it's something like stew, and you get to the last meal's worth, you can set it out for a few minutes, then heat it in the same pan that it was refrigerated in!
I forgot to mention, you can make things like cookie dough in pots, if you like, and save a dish.
