Paten's story about a storm, which is very dramatic and scary, reminded me of a less dramatic and scary story that my aunt has told me. In fact, we talked about it the other day when we spoke, just before Christmas.
When she lived in Eureka, before I was born, with her 2 oldest children, and her Dh, my beloved uncle, my uncle would have to be gone several days at a time to work.
The house was small, and the door couldn't be latched, as the door/building was off-kilter I guess.
One day, they had a rather large, rolling earthquake. It was Christmas time, as they had a tree.
The tree would literally be lying on it's side on the floor as the earthquake moved them, then stood back up. Repeat, repeat. It was quite radical in that way.
Afterwards, the door was able to be latched! I guess that the earthquake's chiropractic adjustment on the building moved things enough to 'fix it'.
Well, I'm off to make a couple of phone calls before places close. I hope that everyone's having a good day!
