Plus veteran discount at most stores.
My large desk calendar had to be trimmed to fit the top of my desk. Sheesh.
I started a THINK area on a small portion of the wall outside my bedroom and util room.
Posting photos, words, art work etc that strike my fancy. I also put up archeological pics, poems, portraits of Van Gogh, Hemingway, trees, the earth, Spices, etc. Some are tiny some larger.
I read a saying from Everyday Zen book.. I open to a page and pick a side and read todays saying is:
Ready for Seed.
Humble as a soil bed. This is the path to love.
The book is tiny, 2x2 inches and I've had it for so long I tie it shut with a length of ribbon.
I also peruse my Celtic Spirit meditations. It is a yearly cycle and the days are numbered. I forgot to read yesterdays. But todays is titled- Jan 16 "leaving home" interesting since the kids arrive Tuesday. I think this may speak to my mother self.
The temps were below 30 since 4am so I ran the faucets instead of turning the well off. When I got up with the sun it was 27. It dropped even lower to 26. It began warming after 7:30 am.
It is MLKing day and I hung my flag. It's a ritual I have followed all my adult life. The only people that have flags are A and me. But veterans usually have flags on the bikes, trucks, etc. Some have full sized flags.
Mine is about 2 ft × 3ft.
Good news my trash can is full of the last recycling. Cans, plastic, and what little house trash I generate.
All that is left are tin roof slats, 12 litter jugs, wood, and carpet & a rug. YEAH!!!
Whew... what a relief to have all that gone. Next is the boxes. That will be a trmendous relief.
Well, off to do house chores. It is still chilly out. Some warming during days but more teasing freezes.
Better then last years disaster.
Be safe.
