Talk about a turn about.
Two mornings ago, I woke before dawn. The sun broke the Eastern horizon slowly through a cloudy sky. And turned the clouds and very air a bloody reddish orange. It also turned the air in my living room the same color.
Grabbing my phone I raced outside to take photos.
I have never seen a sky that intense a color before. As I stepped out my front door and faced West... the Cedars, the driveway, the white house next door. Everything was the same shocking hue.... every thing was a bloody red.
There was no blue sky, no areas of cloudy white, not north, south, west and definitely not east.
I walked to the mailbox and the air was still, as if everything was frozen in place.
Walking home I walked backwards in that strange light. Waiting for the sky and clouds to revert back to normal.
As I locked the gate shut, I finally glimpsed a patch of blue sky off to the southeast.
It was above me that the clouds faded to a gray white.. what a relief it was.
Oh, and this was the morning after the Tortuga Volcano eruption.
Odd, very, very odd!
