My son is able to do the am feeding of Chance, the cats and Charlie plus let him out to run... then put him back inside.
Deb and Charlie got along ok - he was his usual excitable self - a new person. I had her park in the driveway and locked the gate behind her. Then we talked a bit before I let him out. She is very experienced with working with dogs and doesn't think he will be a problem.
We went around the yard with Charlie playing ball with her. She caught on to his tricks easily. I pointed out his ritual fave spots. His bad habits and the areas where he would react to seeing people and dogs outside the yard.
I am very relieved that I made the decision to call her. I also mentioned that I needed to make plans for if I became unable to care for Charlie or I died.
She is sending me information on a woman who handles those types of pet situations. There is no way my kids can handle Charlie. He will need a new home.
Boy will also need to arrange for the cats and the parrot. I need to look into that also so he isn't caught unaware.
I plan on out living Charlie and the cats. Chance has 40 more years of life expectancy.
I am also trying to prepare items that will help console my daughter if I go before her. She is losing weight again. Not a good thing.
This week I will be completing my Body Farm Donation paperwork. I just need to get things squared away so I can stop worrying. Just taking care of business. 8-)
