It's so nice to live that close.
Those must have been wonderful weekends! And, how cool to have a garden with black eyed peas in it!
My poor grandfather tried to teach us to play cards when we were small. But, we didn't make very good people to play against until we got older, lol!
Wow, she was really talented!
Lol! A real shopper!
See, you come by your baking interest and abilities honestly!
Grandparents are the best! We have a lot to live up to!
Speaking of which, now that the frogs have quieted a lot, Thyri rushes to get on the phone with me every evening! She tells me all about her toys, and so forth. We can't understand everything that she's saying when she gets going, but she's really telling me something! lol!
And, she's gone from blowing on the pretend 'food' on her toy stove to 'tasting' it. And then, she makes a face. I guess that her 'recipe' didn't come out! lol!
Do you remember when your children started going to the library? I'm drawing a blank with mine. They were small, but I think older than just turned 2?
Because here, apparently, the local library has a toddler book program. There are board books that Thyri can check out etc. And, they have a special train which you put your name on after reading/having read to you 100 books, then you move your name to another car at 200 books, and so forth until you reach 1,000.
Ds thought that it would take a long time to read 100 books, but I pointed out that they read stories with her all the time, and that just over 3 per day is 100 in a month.
Her latest is a 'finding' book. Like a Where's Waldo for toddlers. She runs her fingers along the page until she finds whatever she's looking for, so I think that it's great that they have such books for little ones.
Well, that's more than enough, lol!
