That program is kind of like our AR reading program...kids strive for points and move a car or something, or build a hamburger by gaining points. They have to take a quiz on the book to determine their comprehension (my kids built hamburgers). AR stands for Accelerated Reader. It really builds comprehension, vocabulary, etc. It's so great that Thryi loves books so much! My kids always did. We drove to the library at least weekly. Then a library was built near us...almost walking distance. Of course our schools had extensive libraries and reward programs like AR. Then when we moved here, the kids were just entering jr. high and walked to the library all the time. It's closed now, sadly. Of course now with e books they can get any book that's been translated into electronic reading.
When I played cards with my grandparents and their friends, (Pinocle and Hearts) I was of driving age. I loved visiting granny on weekends. And, yes, learned alot!!
I love that she "calls" you every night! That is sooooooooooo special!!!!
