It got hot a few days this week. It was in the 60's when it drizzled one day, but near the middle of the week it jumped to the 90's, then well over 100.
This weekend we have a wind advisory, then there are chances of rain from Sunday night through Friday, with a chance of snow on Wednesday.
We, and also Ds where he lives, have been overrun by wasps looking to nest. First we killed a queen yellow jacket in the kitchen. Then, in the same area (they get in the house, and are then attracted to the bank of windows on the south side of the kitchen.) we found a wasp. Then another, and another. All told we have killed 9 wasps in two days...in the house.
If no one sees it fast enough, we know one's there because Krypto focuses on the windows.
It's also cricket 'season.' They are starting to sing outside of our door, which is my favorite thing, and are also getting into the house. Unfortunately, we have to be quick to see them if they are to survive Krypto.
We now have a squirrel here. Usually, we have a bunch of squirrels which come through in the fall, taking acorns and bay nuts. Then, afterwards, they are gone until the next year. But, here a single gray squirrel is up the hill where trees are. And, it's driving Krypto crazy. He wants to go up the hill and check it out!
One of the deer in our little herd looks quite pregnant. I'm looking forward to watching the new fawns.
Well, that's all of the news from this neck of the woods! How was your week?
