I'm in a weirdly unique position to be living in my house before it's even complete, so can really look at things and make decisions on the look of each room. Mostly, I still like my original choices, but I may have changed a couple of things in my mind.
I've never seen the paint style that you are describing for your room.
What color are the kitchen walls now?
I love sheers, and also Indian print material. I probably wouldn't have thought to put them together. My cloth like that was medium purple with other colors in it, from the original Pier 1. It was draped over a small table in my room when I was a teen. I don't know what happened to it later on.
I love your entryway armoire.
For me, old fashioned furniture is nice. Comfortable.
Sturdy furniture is nice, too!
I am trying to figure out the living room paint still here. For when there are walls, of course. But, there won't be many walls. Part of the south wall, which also has the front door and a window in it; the east wall - except for the picture window, a little of the north wall, and some of the west wall, except for the door to the kitchen, and the pass-through.
Originally, I was thinking some type of sand, which is why your post reminded me of this, since this is supposed to be my 'beachy' room...with some sea blue things. The only furniture so far are the chairs - which are cocoa, and that dresser.
I really like S.W. earth tone colors, but not overdone. I look for photos online to show examples.
Mostly, I don't want cold colors anywhere.
And, I know that it's nice to have a theme of 1 color throughout the house, but I am fine with letting each room have it's own personality.
I still want my kitchen to be Italian and country in feel.
The bathroom connected to my bedroom should be refreshing S.W., so old pottery color on the floor, etc. but bits of refreshing white added to the room, along with turquoise. I already have a vase with S.W. turquoise patterns on it, and plan a 2 or 3 shelf unit with white edging of cloth, for my towels. The counter, not sure, but the sink is a hand painted, multi-colored which will go great with the room. That I have in storage, as I do all of my sinks for the house.
Bedroom, not sure. I've vascillated (sp?) for years. A nature green, or 2? I don't know. The fireplace will be adobe, with rounded edges. I don't know how well we will do, but the plan is to shape it ourselves.
The laundry room is my wild room. If someone doesn't like my laundry room colors, then they obviously don't have a life, lol!
The office will be just be slightly off-white with a desk, filing cabinets, and decoration. I want to put in wall pockets to put rock/petrified wood specimens, including American Indian cooking rocks, a large piece - about as large as my fist - of jade, etc. With lights that can be turned on inside. If it's too costly, maybe a battery light in each.
The 2nd bedroom is much smaller than ours, and it will be a tight fit for a queen sized bed, and side table, plus closet, and book shelves. I have a braided rug for that room, and don't have a real idea for it, color-wise. Not blue, brown, black, red, or orange, though. And, not pink. Maybe I'm back to a pretty green, not too light or dark? Sheesh!
There's more, but...! :-)
