Pictures can really make a room work. Say 'Hi!' to Flora for me! :-)
I love various woods. And, the maple sounds nice. My original bedroom set, which was my parents' before I was born, is maple. Most of it's in storage here, waiting to be put into the 2nd bedroom.
I still love the idea of everyone choosing their own chair. It really shows each person's personality, doesn't it?
Crates make great storage, and tend to look good doing it. I have a couple of antique crates with interesting labels on either end. We'll see what I do with them once the house gets some walls and such.
Very cool to take all of the pictures that you really liked, and put them together where you could see them each day!
Your bedroom sounds pretty good so far. What kind of things do you still want to do in there?
That sounds like Rosie the Riveter.
Where did you find the sand paintings? I never see them anymore.
I love the sound of the kitchen range picture.
I've got a small picture somewhere...I don't know if it's okay or not anymore, of an Indian dancing in full, traditional, ceremonial clothing. It is my cousin, the one that was killed just a couple of weeks before Dd was. I'd love to be able to have it back again.
I agree with you. I've found things in antique shops, junk shops, yard sales, Salvation Army, you name it. I've even found amazing things that I loved at Pic 'n Save. They used to have a section for things that you would normally find in shops and such, but they discontinued. Even character collectibles made of very fine ceramic.
