That's interesting, because I have been playing with a powder base, also.
I used to have a loose/finishing powder for over the top of make-up, years ago, but this is like a compact which has 4 or so tones in it. It's meant as a base, and doesn't look bad. It's definitely easy to apply.
My grandmother who had someone do her hair at her house was the same. She is the one who had the farm with my grandfather, until she moved here, and they had very little. The person who did her hair was a hair dresser, but she was also one of her grandchildren's (my 1st cousin.) best friends. I can't imagine that she got much for doing it.
I wonder if home perms are as popular as they used to be?
