I read an article relating which breakfast foods were the most popular by block of time.
For example:
1950-1957 Bacon & Eggs
1957-1960 P ancakes - after Quaker offered Aunt Jemima's Buttermilk pancake and waffle mix.
1960-1964 Eggs Benedict. It was around for some time, but became really popular in the 60's.
1964 - 1971 Poptarts. Even though they were originally unfrosted (until 1967), and only came in 4 flavors, they were such a hit that the first shipment completely sold out. Within' 2 weeks of their introduction, you couldn't get one anywhere, and everyone just had to wait for the next shipment.
1971-1975 Eggos. They didn't take off until Kellogg's bought them, but then they were very popular.
1975 - 1981 Egg McMuffins. They were very popular and sold for .63 cents at the time.
1981-1984 Granola bars.
1984-1990 SlimFast.
1990 - 1994 Breakfast burritos.
1994-1999 Toaster Strudels.
1999-2004 Go-Gurt made a million dollars in sales the first year alone.
2004 - 2010 Green Smoothies.
2010-2016 Avocado toast.
That's where they left off.
Did you ever eat these choices for a while?
Which did you like or dislike?
I remember all of these, but didn't make any of them a daily breakfast.
I liked Poptarts, just because, but will not eat breakfast burritos, Sam I am!
I will eat a regular burrito at breakfast time, or have salsa and tortillas with eggs and such on the side, but for some reason, I do Not want eggs in my burrito.
What do you consider to be breakfast foods for you these days?
