I was awakened quite early on Friday with a storm warning. When my eyes finally woke up, I checked the radar and knew that I had a short time to feed Evie and put her out. About 7:45, the wind really picked up, and it got dark as night. I couldn't even see out my kitchen window. It thundered a bit, and we had a slight rain. It made everything wet, but it wasn't what we call a gully-washer.
I went to walk with friends at the mall, and it came quite a rainfall while we were there. Dh had stayed in the car and said the lightning was pretty bad. We didn't witness any of that in the mall.
By the time we got home, the rain was over, and the temps felt some better. About 5:00, our next-door neighbor rang our bell and asked if we knew that a huge limb had broken off our Oak tree. We had no clue as we can't really see that area from our kitchen window or our sliders in the living room. It was a hug brand that took out part of our fence and punched a small hole in his barn roof. Our two barns that sit on either side of that tree were not damaged. We will calling insurance on Monday to see what we need to do. It could have been much worse, but it is pretty bad.
Today, though, the temps are down, and the humidity is gone. It is so very pleasant outside and feels like a Spring day. We are going to enjoy it as the heat and humidity return on Monday. I just hope it doesn't bring another storm to get us cooler weather.
The new puppy sounds like a little cutie. I hope you can work things out for the batteries for your refrigerator. Gas is a little over $5.00 here, and it is causing a lot of problems for the poorest in the community. Bus fares have gone up, food items are getting ridiculous, and even trash pick-up is way out of reason. These prices are bothering us, but those with the lowest incomes are really having a hard time.
