Yes, I was amazed when I heard it. The 4th is typically such a hot day. Though, that said, we had cloud cover today, and it was only in the low 80's.
Your arm worries me. Do you test your blood sugar ever? Could it be the ants, or the ant spray? My sister used to not be able to get too much sun, after teenagehood, but she didn't have the swelling.

Oh, I watched that show - Cooking With Julia! It had contestants, a host, and guest judges.
They had to make Julia dishes, with their own spin on them. Then, they went to a dining room table and all tasted everyone's dishes. Each episode, someone went home, until one person was left. They got to go to cooking school in France.
They shared tidbits from Julia Child's life, and many of the guest judges were chefs that had met Julia Child at some point. They shared their stories.
It was an unusual concept. One that I never would have thought of in a million years.

That is such a great sounding menu! How do you find steaks cooked sous vide, compared to being cooked in other ways? Putting it on the grill afterwards sounds like a good idea.
That reminds me of doing a reverse sear. People used to sear meat, then finish it in the oven. These days, people like to start them in the oven, then bring them out and sear them afterwards.
