I do have a rat that lives in my kitchen/ living room wall. But this was frightening. It sounded like a huge animal.
Grabbing one of my soiled shoes, I began to pound on the walls where I thought the critter was hanging out.
I slowly followed the sound, after checking on the back porch. Then out my bedroom window facing due North.
I even opened my front door, carefully, and finally realized the sounds were coming from the Civic Center which is East of my bedroom.
What a relief to realize the sounds were fireworks NOT animals. Scary moments trying to find the cause of the sounds.
Someone was setting off heavy duty firework "bombs" that reverberated off my wall above my bed. The noise was a heavy thud. Sporadic ofcourse.... but once I opened the back door I knew what it was.
I was very frightened as my house sits on pylons and there are sections of walls where the insulation has been ripped out. Not huge sections.
The Civic Ctr is lower to my home, since I live on a hill and am higher then my downhill neighbors house. The Civic Center is even more downhill then their home, next to a bit of woods, and just off the main road to our area.
Probably being partially asleep didn't help. help. And most likely added to my fear.
Thankfully its over.... except its 4:30am and there are more fireworks being set off up the hill. Sheesh!
Plus there is a cat or wild critter that climbs under my house and makes noise bending my siding as "it" does.
Talk about a creaky houses. I hate creaky houses! 8-(
