Our week was hot, and hotter. The hottest days were a pair of 111 temperatures, and the 'coolest' day was Friday. Ultimately, it reached 105 but it was 99-102 most of the day. I could really feel the difference. Most nights were 50's - 60's, but a couple of nights it dipped into the 40's. Thursday night, 44. So we opened a window and put a fan in it, blowing in. After 111, we needed all of the cold air that we could get before the next hot day!
It looks like it will be about the same next week, but we should have 5-10 mph winds through Monday. That doesn't sound like much, but with all of the fires that have been cropping up, we don't need any.
We've had lots of wildlife around again this week, from deer to foxes.
I hadn't seen any other critters near the hummingbird feeder until a couple of days ago. Now some paper wasps are flying around on and off. So far, the birds do not seem disturbed by them.
We also hadn't seen a single yellow jacket this year...until this week.
We found a nest of Argentine ants this week, as well.
You have to have a good grip on the hummingbird feeder these days. Dh was hanging it after it was refilled, and they not only were flying around his head, but were landing on the feeder! That's not a bad thing overall, as long as you keep a good hold on it, especially with it being glass!
Interesting thing...Krypto barks when the generator goes off on it's own - aka when we mess up on our calculations of when to refill it. I have no idea why, but at least we'll know if it goes off while we're deeply asleep!
Ds is working in Mill Valley today, and was saying how chilly and foggy it was in the morning. For those not familiar, Mill Valley is south of me, and less that 15 miles north of the San Francisco. So, while they have had very hot weather there, most of the time it's not. This is good because his hat and sunscreen (which he needs because he's on antibiotics that make people photosensitive.) were left at home. If it stays as mild as it was when he got there, he'll get by without those things.
Well, I'm not making bread today, as I made it yesterday, but I'd still like to cook a little this morning before it gets hot.
How was your week?
