I love cabbage in soup, too! Cabbage has gotten really expensive, though.
I used to make a multi-bean soup. It was good. But, sometimes I just made a mixed vegetable soup, and added a couple of types of bean to shore it up, too.
What type of beans do you have?
Baked beans are great 'doctored' up into bbq'd baked beans to go with hotdogs or something like that.
Pintos are good with canned tomatoes, and even ground meat, added. Serve with cornbread, bread, garlic toast, etc.
Garbanzo's can be drained and have creamy salad dressing (1,000 Island, Ranch, etc.) put on them, and eaten with Saltines. Salad bar sans salad, lol! Or, put them on a salad.
Kidney beans, cannellini/navy (sp?) beans, etc. in any soup.
Good luck with them!
