I agree about the 1st MiB!
I've been taping movies like no one's business for the longer, colder nights. Usually, there aren't any on that I would watch. So, I'm getting them while I can.
I'm grabbing Christmas movies for next month, but also there are series'. I've seen all sorts recently, but this week there are everything from the original James Bond movies...1963 for example, to animal movies.
One of the animal movies that I have taped, but not yet watched, is about a farm dog who is reincarnated as a puppy who vows to spend his life protecting a little girl. I hope that it's not sad...
Also, a couple of Nat'l Geo's...which I never find anymore, and a couple of zoo shows, where they follow the keepers for a day with particular animals.
I saw one where the zoo collected all of the very few Spray Toads from S. America - w/ the govts. permission - and set up a special breeding program. They look like tiny frogs, and are called 'Spray' because that lived in the spray of waterfalls. In this episode, they flew with 1,000 back to their homeland, to work with the scientists there to return them to the wild, where they made sure there would be the correct environment for them.
Also, they showed the zoo's giraffes, and them trapping some local, N.Y., wild birds in mist nets, so that they can mark them, etc. A lot of birds hit windows in the city, so while they have them, they put them in an area with 2 types of windows, to see their preference, for 30 seconds, then release them back into the wild. They want to see if there's a type of window that they will avoid.
Anyway, interesting stuff.
