Well, cold, cold, and cold here. The nights have been really cold, and until Friday, so have been the days. Yesterday, it made it to over 70, which was better. We had a little rain last night, are supposed to get a bit more today, not amounting to much, and then...nothing. But, that also means that it will be below freezing at night through Wednesday, and a couple of degrees above that for the rest of the week. Brrrrr.
We did have 3 and 3/4" of an inch earlier this week. 2 of the inches were in one day.
The dogs from way down the road have been running around here. Krypto growled a serious growl early one morning, and we wondered if one or more came up here.
There's an interesting program here that I didn't know about until Ds and I were talking, and he mentioned it. He said that one of the stores here gives a free piece of fruit to any children in their store at checkout. I love that. Has anyone else heard of a store doing that?
Ddil is going to have an MRI this weekend. Apparently, what she had before was a CAT scan.
No word on our Dr. Related to that, the pharmacy can't give me my medications without renewals. 2 are okay for the next month, I believe, but one needs renewing now. I called the office to talk to whomever might be taking calls, but no one is.
My new food processor should arrive today.
Dandy is now running between Dh's legs to get to food. That's promising!
I have produce to process for soup, broth, and hand pies. A few apples, a head of cabbage, celery, some carrots, etc. It's a bit of work, but worth it to have those meals in the freezer!
Some of our Phoebes are still here, and have been bathing in the icy cold puddles of water from the rain!
Thyri's speech is moving along at a good clip. For example, if Ds told her that she couldn't do something before, she'd ask, "Why?" Now, she says, "Why not, daddy?"
Well, the other day, Ds was working in the kitchen, and a fire started in a burner that didn't come on correctly, then caught 2 sponges on the counter after flashing. He was right there, and chose to use his fire extinguisher. I'm sure that I don't have all the details, but that's the gist of it.
Meanwhile, Thyri ran into the other room to tell her mom that there was a fire in the kitchen! But, she didn't react. I guess that she thought that if there was a fire in the kitchen, Ds would have told her. She was surprised when he came in a few minutes later to tell her that there had been, and that he'd put it out with the kitchen fire extinguisher. New family rule: listen to what the 2 year old is saying!
Well, that's what's going on in this neck of the woods. How was your week?
