Answer: Illinois is responsible for the production of 95% of all pumpkins grown in the United States. Furthermore, 80% of all pumpkins produced commercially in the U.S. are grown within a 90-mile radius of Peoria, Illinois. The town of Morton, located just 10 miles southeast of Peoria, is the self-proclaimed "Pumpkin Capital of the World." Morton is also the location of a Libby’s pumpkin processing plant which cans more than 85% of the world’s pumpkin each year. It should come as no surprise that pumpkin pie is the official state pie of Illinois.

November 6 was Saxophone Day, an unofficial holiday that celebrates the birthday of the instrument's inventor, Adolphe Sax. Born in Belgium in 1814, Sax was an instrument maker and musician who designed and introduced the saxophone in 1840. This incredibly unique instrument is the only brass instrument in the woodwind family. The saxophone has a rich history for its contributions to music by the likes of classical saxophonist Marcel Mule, and jazz musician Charlie Parker, to name a couple.
