We had a cold week, mostly, until the past 3 days. The nights are still 20's to 30, but the last 3 days got up into the 80's. Only for about 90 minutes, but I lie in wait, and do 'cold things' like bathing, and washing vegetables in cold water, during that 90 mins.! This morning, we were completely socked in with fog, and it didn't get out of the 30's until 11:30 A.M.
The forecast says, for next week, that it will be a little less warm during the day, but 20's to mid-30's at night. Brrrr! No rain is forecast, just frost.
Big headlines with Dandy! He *almost* came in the kitchen door with Dh yesterday. In fact, Dh stopped him, as he's never really been within' reach of Krypto. Soooo, today, we're going to try my plan again of leading him into the office, which Krypto can't easily get to. Well, there's a baby gate there. Hopefully, we've gotten to a crossroad with him, and he will go my way on it!
I did regular household things this week...prepping food to put away, dusting, etc. etc.
But, because I've still had trouble getting online, I've also read quite a bit.
It's so cold here, and the price of heater fuel is so high, that Ds is burning wood in his wood burning stove/heater. Luckily, we have a good amount of wood already cut and mostly split here, both from a few years ago, and this year's tree cutting by PG&E, because buying firewood has also gone up quite a bit.
Ds tried to add a needed part to my 2 batteries, but it didn't work. He sent an email to the company, and they said that he'd have to send back the part, they would have to drill something on it, then send it back. Sheesh. Hopefully, they will not keep the part for too long before sending it back.
Mamou and Uhura are spending a lot more time inside, which I love. So now, I have one or the other on me most of the time. Rarely both, but it does happen.
Our actual Daddy Long Legs, the spiders who reside in the corner of the ceiling and catch bugs, are pretty large, if you count their thin legs. Actually, they are kind of thin of body, with long legs.
Well, last night I saw a teeny tiny baby one. I've never seen one this small. With legs it was quite a bit smaller than a dime, and had little color, as many baby bugs don't. I watched it for a minute, while waiting for Dh to extricate himself from Krypto on his chair and come and 'save' me (more like save the long leg, as I couldn't move without squashing the poor little thing, who was on my keyboard.), and he did something that I've heard about in old books, but have never seen: he did a kind of ballet plie!
This variety, at least, are tons cuter when tiny.
We heard/saw the first set of Canadian geese of the fall, which it's very late for. Though they were flying extra high, they were very loud as they honked, as they flew in their typical 'V' formation. Very nice!
Well, that's about all from this neck of the woods. How was your week?
