We had a Carneigie Library in Paducah, and it was beautiful. When I was a sophomore in high school, there was a fire in the children's room in the basement. It did cause some damage, but nothing that was horrible. Our mayor, at the time, decided not to re-build, but tear down. I was so upset at the time and still a, upset. I was only a kid, but I still think every effort should have been made to save that building. I have included a history of the building if anyone is interested. I guess I should let it go, but that event still upsets me.
